King Gordogon

Written in 1943, King Gordogon by Croatian playwright Radovan Ivšić served as a powerful rebuttal to the injustices during the Nazi occupation of Zagreb. This production at Benedictine University, Mesa, AZ, used digital media to explore the ways in which Carla Stockton's new translation of this classic text offers a prescient commentary on the absurdity of ultimate power.
Directed by Erika Hughes.
Media design by Daniel Fine and Boyd Branch.
Premiered April 2017.
